Pinball Pirates and Profiteers (re: R&B kijiji)

Well, and I'll throw one other point in. I've not been there, but from everything I've read, he is woefully understaffed. In the case of a pin, an ounce of prevention IS worth a pound of cure, so I suspect with the beating those Sterns get, they're just left to run until they can't run anymore...

Pinball Pirates and Profiteers (re: R&B kijiji)

From every report those new Sterns get the most action of all his games though. Tim is eccentric, so I wonder if he is not calculating the coinbox against cost of machine, and is just being emotional about it.

Why does the P3 get no love?

For me personally, it's the little things. 3D art that looks dated, doesn't excite me. A lot of the prototype stuff, like cabinet, which I understand is just to house their tech demos, but again it doesn't excite me. When I compare it with the art I see coming out of jpop's workshop, no...

Why does the P3 get no love?

I was curious what they were up to so I went to their site. Things are moving along, but I did read a post from them saying they are behind on their funding goals so things are moving more slowly than they would like. I'm not sure myself why the P3 doesn't get more attention. It is a definite...

Pinball Pirates and Profiteers (re: R&B kijiji)

We are on the cusp of a technology shift in pins.... even the latest Sterns, with their colour changing LEDs make other games look dated. I do suspect over the next few years regular dmd games will lose favour.

I agree. I liked it better at 25 cents a game.

To the OP, eventually that R&B will find its way to market value. SOMEONE is going to make money off of it, somewhere, if it sells for cheap. It will find its way. So, I hold no ill will towards any flipper. I've got better things to worry about. I just make sure when I buy a game, that I'm...

    Which Pin?

no worries, I was just joking. I'll post in my original thread when I've had some time to work on it. Someone has loaned me a spare dmd for diagnosis, and I accidentally blew a fuse (unrelated to this problem) and it's a 3/8 which I don't have so I have to go pick some up to continue the...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

I attended the last official topl league night of the summer yesterday. I think since I started with them last season I've missed 2 nights in total. Topl has become my regular monday night activity. Adam is planning some Pingolf over the summer hiatus, which I've never done, so I will be part...

    PAPA World's and Pinbrawl

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a trip to TO around a ToPL night and come out for that. but if there's nothing happening during your window (likely not because of papa), then you can probably skip it, if your primary goal is to play pinball. You could still visit the Starburst showroom, and the...

    Tilt bob placement

Most of my pins never had them installed, but I'd like to put them in. Is there a standard?

    SOLD Pinfinity Blade™ BLOWOUT!

Brock, why get out of them completely? Why not tout what makes them better and let people decide if they want to pay for quality? Someone is always going to sell something for cheaper.

RIP James Gandolfini aka Tony Soprano

People aren't mourning because he's a celebrity, its because they've gotten to "know" him for many years, so even though they've never met in real life, the loss is real.

    ToPL Jun 17 2013

I didn't play CCC last night, but I'm bummed to hear the technology itself was an issue. I hope that isn't an indicator of what's to come from other p-roc projects.

    My Newest Edition

I've not watched any real tutorials, but I'm amazed how much better my game has gotten. Anticipating the ball better, nuanced flips to pass the ball back and forth. I'm not great, but from playing a few thousand games at home, it's bound to make a difference.
