Got to play KK today as well. Layout of game is great, lots of fun shots on the playfield. Have to say the video and graphics would stop me from buying this game. Needs to progress a long way from the current code. Doesn't look like they spent a lot of money on graphic design for this game. Too bad, it has lots of potential.

I got quite a bit of time on kong and im really impressed with it. I love the game. Top left feels like an upper playfield and once you start making the shots it feels so smooth. Im a big fan, don't understand the hate for this game at all

Most of the hate is directed at the presentation (art package, animations, audio) as far as I know.
While the playfield design looks fun, they butchered the IP (imo).

I really like the artwork but i also enjoy those kind of colors. So i guess that works in my favor.
The gameplay is really the only thing that matters. Just like the silly "no guns, wah wah" complaints about Wick... if you're staring at the playfield, backglass and side art you're going to have a pretty terrible game of pinball.

No matter how good a game plays, if it doesn't have a good audio package and the visual presentation/ theme doesn't click with me, there is absolutely zero chance I will buy it. I will however buy a game solely based on the audio package or IP though.
But I get it, different people like different parts of the experience.

For home, gameplay and rules will keep you engaged with the game for a long time - most important. As an example GNR has amazing audio, video + IP - a beauty box of lights and sounds. Unfortunately it's a dud game and consequently it's hard to sell.

There is absolutely nothing special about John Wick's fan layout, code, mechs or art, but I find that I want to play it ahead of much more highly regarded Stern's (GZ, EHoH, Jaws, JP, DP, D&D).
There's something about the gameplay that makes me love that machine, but I can't put my finger on what it is. It's just as fun as hell to play.
My initial impression on Kong is that I really like the feel of the shots and it is probably Stern's best since Bond and Foo Fighters.
Finally got and brought my KK premium home yesterday. Thanks again Troy from Nitro and my good friend Kev for the assist in picking up, moving and setup. Game is great and very kinetically satisfying as Keith Elwin would say. Going to leave in middle of room until I have all my mods installed and game dialed in as I have been noting some fixes from other owners on pinside for last few weeks.
