Yes, tariffs are applied to pins, what he is saying is there is a way to recover that 25% tariffs from the government since there is no means of getting pinball in Canada to meet the demand.

So yes, they are subject to tariffs, but then the company gets those recovered.

A company saying, we will cover the tariffs under the circumstance above is 100% being shady. Sure you are covering the tariffs for the initial hit, but then you get your money back after filling out some government paper work.

There is no WAY in hell a company could eat 25% cost increase on a product in the 10K range and more without going under fast.
(Just to make sure it's clear for everyone, I'm Phil, owner of Nitro Pinball East. That's gonna be my last statement).

I'm just amazed by the number of false statements and false accusations that become truth just because a few people say so.

Has everyone seen the new DUNE promo video? Original thought was meh but this new trailer is unreal. Toys, Mechs, Integration looks so good. This does belong in the DUNE thread and I will put it there as well.

Pricing stayed the same which is nice.

Gonna have to wait as I don’t want to purchase from the current main distributors (even ones saying we won’t charge tariffs) until Mana Lounge has their contract back.

The fact Nitro posted and turned off comments is very suspicious I gotta say.
Same here, Nitro isn't going to grope my wallet. Stern will probably make this game for many years. No rush, I will wait for Mana or buy one from a US distributor.

Quick question before you go.

How'd you find out we were no longer a dealer so quickly? Pretty well the same day we were told, you decided to inform others of our situation and looked to take our sponsorship spot. Was there a newsletter that went out or did you get a phone call?

Of course I knew it, we've been informed by Stern. Same thing when you got your dealer licence , we knew it way before it went public. Stern is dealing with P1 and Nitro forever, realtionships exist, so of course they give info.

By the way, I've been hit by MULTIPLE complaints over the last year, I had to remove many posts/ads I published because of blames. I don't think I complained about myself...

If you have anything to discuss, give me a call, I have absolutely no problem talking with you. I think it would be more productive than making false assumptions over the web.

Well, you learn something new every day. I didn't know Dave is a Stern dealer. For those newish to the Canadian pinball community Dave Astill and Nick Angel are standing up guys. I've bought and sold from Dave and Nick helped me fix a board issue on my LOTR for a veeeeeery reasonable price.

Next time I'm in the market for a new pin looks like I have more choices than I knew. Shame about Mana, but hope they get back into distributing for Stern. Competition is good for the pinball community!

the colour scheme looks completely awful imo.

i get it, they're trying to pay homage to that data east rarity, but waaaay too much purple and pink.

those colours worked great for x men, but for this? i'm not convinced. it needs to be way muter.

I believe both Dave Astill and Nick Angel are resellers for P1, that being said you would probably get a better service buying from them vs. buying directly from P1.

Sounds like the old boys club! Seems fair to get complaints when you are actually breaking the rules, they are there to level the play field. Why would you complain about having to remove your posts/ad when you are running unauthorized promotions  The only thing that should differ between distributors is the quality of the service. Nitro cant stomach losing market share and had to use sketchy pressure tactics to force Stern to shut down your competition instead of bettering your service. That's some really shady business practices! Perhaps you should have done your homework before getting in bed with Nitro which already had a bad rep for years.

Along with Nick Angel and Dave Astill, Dan Birch (DC Amusements) is a reseller also.

Got my Xmen from Dave, smooth as could be.....well except for the gas station that we thought was very close ahead of us, turned out it was very "closed" ahead of us. Fun times lurching and/praying into the next one....

The playfield design looks pretty cool, but man, that art package/ children's cartoon style...what were they thinking? Using the original film as the source material/ art style would have been 1000% better. As is, I think they completely destroyed anything cool about the Kong theme. Even Kong Skull Island was a good movie they could have gone with. Dune annihilates this in terms of presentation.

I'm with you, I would have loved to have seen a 1930s inspired art package - maybe even a black and white LE like Godzilla 70th. It's all subjective though, glad to see other people really like it. I really like the Kong and subway car, and the gong on the premium, but that spider looks very dollar-store-ish to me. Maybe it's just the odd green colour. I think the pro looks better without it.

When is the Godzilla vs Kong with the best bits of both machines mashed togther coming out? :D

Don't really understand the hate aimed at Nitro. Several of my friends have bought from Nitro and been pleased with service. I also bought a game from them and would buy again.

Back on topic. I absolutely hate the pallete on Kong. I'm getting really tired of Zombie's art style. Not every game needs to look like a comic book aimed at kids. I'm sure the game will shot great, but really the art package was different.

Dune looks amazing. I love everything I am seeing...except the price. Love the art, the creativity, toys, and layout. Cann't wait to play this one.

Looks like a typical Elwin, tons of shots and lots of combos, some shots you would t expect where they go. Animation leans more towards the unlicensed kind of how they did JP. Lots coded already from what it seems.
