I'm also noticing that on my tablet the avatars are not scaling properly and they are ending up over top of the thread posts for some reason making them unreadable.

Same for me as well, but that could be easliy fixed by restricting the size of avatars a bit more, and it's only one avatar that causes an issue *cough*level42*cough*
