    Building a Dream

I never knew those existed. That's a good idea.

    Building a Dream

You can always add some fans afterwards. I'd be more worried about keeping garage doors open and keeping bugs and other wildlife out. Nothing like getting eaten alive by mosquitoes while trying to play pinball :)

    Building a Dream

Really? I've had 5 games going on a 15A breaker for ages, and it's been fine so far, even when they're all being played at once. I don't think I've ever managed to trip a breaker while playing.

    Building a Dream

Great-looking forward to being able to have playoffs there. Next spring?

Any suggestions on generic Mylar for spot protection

I have a couple of games where I wanted to add some mylar for spot protection-any suggestions on what to use? I think I remember reading that people had used laminating sheets-if so anything in particular to look out for? I'd rather not rip off paint/clear with the wrong adhesive.

5th Annual Ottawa Pinball& Gameroom Show

Has this been going for 5 years now? That's awesome-I've never been, but I'm glad this show has been successful.

SOLD Star Trek The Next Generation pinball machine for sale/trade $4500

Congrats to the buyer-I miss this game, but it ended up being the repair that got away from me (aux driver problems, melting coils, and a board that actually caught fire).

TOPL Playoffs July 19th 2015 @11 AM Carlisle Ont .

Just to add to this, the format is match play, and the plan is for 20 rounds of head to head play followed by a playoff round for the top 8, so everyone gets a full day of pinball out of the format.

SOLD IJ williams (more pics added) $5000

You know, instead of replacing the decals, you could always take that cash and put it towards making a custom cab like the one at Disney. Price is probably about the same, and it'd mean you'd have something unique.

    Heighway Pinball Production Update

Good for them-hope the game is good. Are those pictures of the production game though? Seems a little risky to have the exposed PCBs in the bottom of the cab like that...

    Stern Pinball: Spike Electronics System

Given the way that the boards etc connect to each other, wouldn't it be possible to just add on another RJ45 connection to the chain and add more drivers etc to a game? Given that Stern is starting to sell their own mods, it wouldn't surprise me to see something like this down the line.

    Stern Pinball: Spike Electronics System

I like the look of this system-makes a lot of sense. We'll see how it plays out in the long run I suppose. Now they just need to make a spike game that I want to buy :)

How do the pros practice and prepare for tournaments?

Another thing you can try is just going for specific goals. If you want to drill things like post passes, live catches, drop catches, or specific shots on a game, then that's pretty easy to do. Start a game and try to do nothing but nail the orbit shot, or try to hit everything you can from a...

    Pinball Hall of Fame

I was there last year, and it's OK. Lots of games are usually not working, but it's still a great collection of stuff. It's worth checking out if you want to try pinball circus, and there's probably some other games that you won't see very often, so if you have a few hours, it's worth the trip out.

    Beat up F2K

Ah, I didn't realize that there was still a solution involved. That makes more sense though-it's just using the sonics as a way to agitate the solution around the parts. Still cool though.

    Beat up F2K

That's pretty impressive-how much was the cleaner? If it's safe to use on bits with switches etc still attached, then it makes it a little more useful than a tumbler, doesn't it?

    ColorDMD's next game is Popeye

I've never actually played this game, but it's pretty universally panned. Very strange choice, unless this is a very late april fool's joke?

Spooky Pinball announces Rob Zombie machine!

Are they actually taking preorder money? Not really interested in the theme, but spooky has managed to deliver so far, so hopefully this all turns out well for them.

    Zidware upcoming Sh*t Storm

That's really too bad for anyone that had money in this. I doubt there's going to be a way to recover anything, but who knows. I wonder if any of those design ideas are ever going to make it to a production game? The screen placement isn't a bad idea-it works well in CV, and it worked in p2k...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Hosted TOPL again last night, and the "what broke" list was actually pretty short: The tilt on spider-man was a little too tight-it had loosened off, and I went a little overboard "fixing" it. A couple of stuck balls-pretty much to be expected over a long enough timeline. LOTR coils (even with...
