Classic Stern seem pretty easy to get parts for. Not sure why, but it seems these and most classic Bally are very well supported in the repro parts market; right down to the boards and displays. It's probably their simplicity.
If you're looking for something more modern, I think almost any 90s...
We'll... I did say it was quite a bit more challenging ;)
It can be a very punishing game with that big open left drain.... which is why it's so critical to hit the Eight Ball target right away and light the kickback for ball save.
As long as you do that and you know when to nudge, it...
I think that would likely have made for a more complicated 12 minute story. Likely a conscious decision on the part of the producers.
Also, it sounded like this series definitely had a Chicago bias. I don't know where spooky and JJP have their manufacturing facilities, but I am assuming not...
Of the games I've owned or played enough of to make a judgement, I would say Bally EIGHT BALL and Williams HIGH SPEED fall into the time-frame you described. Both are fun for noobs but still have some challenge. Eight Ball is quite a bit more challenging IMO though.
If you're stretching to...
In other news... The last of the Allentown haul got set up this weekend.
Seawitch is up and running.... and in some good company too :D
Mystic girls, aquatic girls and alien girls. I think I see a definite theme here from Stern :)
All three of these beauties are slated for a facelift. I...
It's an interesting distinction for sure.
I think, even in the earliest machines there was always a level of control. I have a 1937 Bally Booster (pre-flipper) and, if I can get the ball in the perfect spot between 2 springs and my nudging timing is bang on, I can keep it trapped there...
I swear George Molentin had a thing for blondes. Or maybe she was someone who worked at Williams back int the day, because the same lady appears in Skyway, Army Navy and now in your Colors :D
Hey man... I'm like an onion. Lots of layers :)
I do enjoy playing these. But I enjoy most any type of Pinball.
It would be great to have a fully restored lineup of really vintage games that all played flawlessly.
I think it would be super hilarious if someone took an old woodrail and added a DMD with animations. Could be cool... you never know.
I have pre-flipper games and Skyway feels nothing like that to be honest.
The kicker often needs a good nudge to operate and the one flipper does a lot actually...
I'm not sure? I don't think it's factory.
There are only images of maybe 2-3 other examples online and none of them have it. Maybe it was placed there to prevent ball hangups? Although, I have no idea how a ball would get there.
I will likely be removing it once I get down to my restoration...
No quite pinball?
Well, it's got a flipper, kickers, ramp, rollover lanes, saucers, pop-bumpers, bonus scoring..... I can go on and on.
Maybe it just needs a colorDMD to qualify :D
It' finally mine!!!
Only the coolest woodrail ever!!!! :D
After years of lusting after this machine, the owner finally let me have it. I'm super lucky... there are just a handful of these left on the planet.
I love the pre-spaceflight era artwork. These Williams EMs were primarily used for...
Hey guys,
I found an extremely rare Williams woodrail and am looking to get the backglass reproduced by BGresto.
If I can get it to Dos Reboot in the Windsor area, she can help me get it the rest of the way.
I prefer not to ship it given the rarity. There may only be less than a half dozen of...

You can probably skim the first 2 sections, but part 3 will help you immensely.
If you can't get it going after reading through this, call in an expert and pay for repairs. There are a few people that come to mind not too far from you.
Good luck.
PS.
Make sure...
I've had good luck with Simple Green or Mean Green on Melamine foam (Magic Eraser).
Some guys say to use it fairly dry, others say to go really wet. It all depends on your playfield and how much it absorbs.
The trick is to get to a consistency where the foam glides a bit, but still has some...
You don't
In fact, you don't get it anywhere anymore. There are tire cleaning products at CT that say they contain Bleche-White (not sure how that works?) but the true Westley's BW formula was changed a couple of years ago even in it's native USA. It no longer has the same cleaning power...
