Where are my manners? It's been a slow summer, but still several helping hands have made a world of difference towards my ongoing struggle to acquire, preserve and play these beautiful machines we all love.
Warlock of course for providing transport and refuge to transient pinball machines when...
The test playfield is a 'blank'. If you notice, there are no holes or inserts. It is not usable as a playfield.
The best I can hope for is to scan that art at a high resolution and produce my own overlay... then sand mine down to wood and apply.
Unfortunately, the artwork is for the 'hot dog'...
I grabbed this one Mike.
I owned a Space Station and always wanted to have this side by side with it. Unfortunately Space Station is gone now, but I'm looking forward to having this classic for a while.
If anyone has any leads on a playfield or overlay, please let me know. It seems in great...
Oh, if I had a buck for every time I heard that....
Apparently I still wouldn't be able to afford a Funhouse :p
I'm sure I could get in the area of $4-$4.5K for my example... But with a $6K budget you should have no issues; aside from locating one to buy.
This hobby must be spiralling out of control faster than I thought. I'm reading that even a game like Fun House is out of this guy's reach with a $4-$6k budget? And upwards of $4K for a T2?
I'd better give Rudy a spit shine and get him listed quickly
It's a great thing I got most...
Nice read!
FYI. That distant target is certainly 'make-able' by the upper left flipper. It takes some practice on the plunge to get the ball to land right on the flipper and then a hard shot at a sharp angle will take out 1-3 of those furthest targets.
I love reading about Gottlieb's follies...
Thanks to GorgarSpeaks I have a new toy. I traded BoP after a short stint and got this back in partial trade.
I've only played it a few times but looking forward to having this at home now!
Thanks!
Might get to that Seawitch cabinet sooner rather than later and worry about the playfields afterwards. This nice weather is perfect for cabinet work.
Thanks.
I did see that thread and inquired. Not sure that he's going to make more than one set but he did offer to send me the art files to make my own.
I'm waiting on the last CPR run now so I can finish up Fathom too.
I just traded away my BoP and am getting a Bally Frontier back in partial trade.
The game has plastics but a few have been repaired. I know it's a long-shot, but if anyone is sitting on some spare FRONTIER plastics, please let me know.
Thanks!
That's a fancy contraption :D
I use the digital mastercaft unit from CT and I've started just doing it on the glass for the same reasons you mention.... you need a straight lateral line and the top and bottom edge of the glass provide that. Obviously the side rails provide it in the other...
Thanks!
I tried something different this time around.
I had a handheld belt sander that accepts 3" wide paper. Normally you can only buy 150 grit or more coarse from the local big box stores, but Amazon.ca had varying grits down to 400 so I grabbed a few different grades and tested out using...

So I've eaten up more than a month so far and haven't made a ton of progress.
My plan was to get all 3 cabinets done while the weather is warm and then move on to the playfields as they can be done largely indoors.
At this pace I may not make my self-imposed challenge of...

I'm back from a nice week in Maine with the family. A long drive from Toronto to the Old Orchard Beach/Kennebunkport area, but I still came back re-energized and ready to work!
First off; the lesson for the day... don't waste your money on fancy expensive paints :FP:
I...
HEP is meticulous. AFAIK he does not use any printers or any other trickery. He's got lots of techniques and they're all a huge pain in the ass :D
I love me a good clearcoat and have cleared several vintage machines... but that's because I hate playing old games with rough playfields that have...
Very subjective questions.
If I had an all original Gottlieb Knock Out (yeah, the rare woodrial) and the playfield had some small issues but was otherwise mostly okay... and same for the cab... and then I decided to just clearcoat it to protect the it as-is, I would mist assuredly be reducing...
I hate sellers that make you feel like they're doing you a favour taking your money... especially on an inflated 'cash-grab' listing to boot.
Welcome sir!
Not too many Portuguese collectors around here. Glad to finally meet another one... although I've lived in Canada most of my life, by way of Angola and Viseu.
I'm also a creative director so that's another funny coincidence.
Welcome to the forum!
