The Op-Max is awesome but I reserve that for special games only. The frosted retros are really great too and far more accessible... especially in bulk.
Not really. Playfield swaps have become fairly straightforward. I just haven't done a DMD since my White Water more than 4 or 5 years ago! I've been way to engrossed with EMs and early SS games.
At least I will be VERY practiced by the time I settle down to do TAF.
Happy to see TAF getting some love.
It was my first game and I have amassed everything I need to do a kickass restore (including a Ron Kruzman playfield) and yet I keep ignoring this game in favour of working on other projects.
Maybe I'm just subconsciously waiting until I have the time to offer...
You can try this. It's a half-measure at best, but it will help if you do it right.
Use some masking/painter's tape to cover up the areas on either side of that chipped portion. Then fill with krazy glue gel and allow to harden overnight. Then block sand it with a tiny wooden block. You can...
I use the walnut lizard/pet bedding. No additives so no colour changes to the parts. Flitz is also added. Something like a bottle or half bottle the first time around and then a cap-full or two every once in a while to keep it going. Us a good ultrasonic cleaner or just wash your metal parts...
My dream at one point was to have a whole series of these unloved 6803 beasts fully restored and shiny. Having all those Bally Midway logos running down the aisle in various colours was the visual I had in my head. It would've been an audacious salut to turd-polishing at it's finest.
Alas, I...
Hopefully this will be the last "new machine" post for me for a while.
I'm really looking forward to trimming down projects and hunkering down to work on (and enjoy) the stuff I've got.
I actually bought this several weeks ago, but it came up from the US and was being held by a friend in...
This dude looks like he staged that entire room and even got himself all primped in order to flaunt his MG and record this whole series of useless videos. Do you really think he knows anything about how a pinball machine works?
My favorite part of these stupid videos is about the 6:00 mark of the "underneath playfield" video where he says,"I'm glad this was inspected by L. Christmas" and then shows the decal.
I've seen L. Christmas inspection decals on old Williams games from the 80s and 90s so, either JPOP dug up his...
So, this week started off well. I decided to start to thin the herd a little. I have way too many games for my liking but, deciding what to let go is like cutting off a limb. I decided I had had enough time with my beautiful GTB Volley so I let that machine go to a friend.
Not 24 hours later I...
Dialing-in a game has to do with making small adjustments (usually on the playfield) to make it play better/smoother.
This is more of a general maintenance question but, the one thing I'd be concerned with is introducing water to the back of a bg. If it's in really good shape and you're...
This game was deemed unplayable back when Bill Brandes was taking the prototype around to try and see if he could get these made.
Not sure what the real angle is here for American Pinball... but based on the huge disclaimers I've read stating that this is a Zidware machine and it was built 100%...
