Also any local electronic store will carry Infarred LED receivers. If you have a good electronics shop close by it may be a quicker trip.

Sounds like intermittent operation to me. I would replace both emitter and receiver to be sure. I had the same issue. It would work for 2 weeks, then stop for no reason.

My current guess is ground mods to be done. Had everything up and running on a bench test. 12 volts in, 5.1 volts out. No problems. I'm thinking maybe ground mods, because I don't believe it is the boards fault.

Swiped an old desktop computer power supply from work. Now I have a +12V and +5V power supply for bench testing WOO HOO! We'll get this power board working one way or another.
