That’s where I saw that! Thanks for the links- somehow couldn’t find it again. I’ll be in the US a lot in the coming months so maybe I can grab something down there or have it shipped to wherever I happen to be. I may just end up going the Instructibles route though- seems simple enough. I...
Not sure where you are at- I have had some success buying from Sayal electronics, although the selection varies from store to store and from what I recall their website is a bit of a disaster to navigate.
What is the best way to replace mini-rivets that are commonly used to attach plastics, ramps etc? I don’t like the look of regular rivets with the hole in the middle, and I think the pressure would crack the plastic. I’ve done a bit of searching on this site but didn’t find anything yet...
Sorry my bad - I thought you had passed b/c of the led issues and was just getting in line.
Not trying to hijack a thread or scoop a machine- was trying to help a friend.
You are right - I should have checked with you first, and it was rude. No offence intended.
My apologies.
Looking for a 1 player EM Zaccaria scoring reel assembly for a Moon Flight pin. I’m not too familiar with EM machines, hopefully that is the correct terminology. It’s the assembly on the cabinet floor on the left hand side. Original is, or was, a 7 reel unit. Some Williams units may work as...
I had a very similar issue with a Sharkey’s Shootout. It turns out the DMD was bad- it was acting up for a short while but then the machine just wouldn’t boot. Swapped out the DMD and it solved the problem. Might be worth a shot to swap in a known good display and/or display driver board.
$45k collection in Ottawa is legit - not mine, but I know the seller.
So is the Maiden- brand new and he’s only had it a few weeks. All machines in excellent condition.
Probably the speaker then- the way the other guy wired it may have overdriven the speaker and damaged the cone or voicecoil. If you’re replacing you may as well improve it too- get something with higher sensitivity (dB rating). Long story short, the higher the db sensitivity, the louder it...
Love *some* mods but agree not to do anything too permanent.
That being said, I had to stop mwong’s video link above at 2:24 because I just couldn’t take it anymore.....promptly went and hugged my unmodded TZ...
Ha- totally missed that you said it was a ST Pro in your first post.
If the previous owner soldered a 2nd sub in parallel that may have lowered the overall impedence to the amp and that may have damaged the amp rather than the speaker.
Why does it sound ‘blown’? What is it doing? Is it...
Which pin?
Double check all of the wiring - a loose wire can sound like a blown speaker. Doubt any pinball amp would put out enough power to blow a sub.
Crutchfield Canada is excellent for all things audio, and they occasionally have free shipping as well. Just get the same impedance (ohms)...
Ok I’ve got a piece of thick sheet metal now so hopefully I can start fabricating soon.
I’ll be doing a few things with mine soon as well- maybe lite up buttons and button protectors, and I want to repaint the red on the cabinet since it’s all faded to yellow. I bought the alternate translite...
