Isn't the other rumor a Borg Star Wars game this year?

A new take on Walking Dead on the scale of Metallica Remastered could be really good. Not sure that it'd have the cultural impact that it did back when the game released, but doing a version styled after the comics that accounted for the rest of the series could improve the game.

I hope not - he was definitely working on a new game when it was shelved last year.

As for TWD - not a great title to remaster in the sense that it's a dead TV series and the games don't really sell for a big premium like Tron, LOTR, TSPP, GB etc. In fact the last one I saw for sale sat for a long time at a good price before it sold.

I suppose they could do the third trilogy with Rey, Finn, Kylo, etc. That hasn't been covered in pinball yet.

Star Wars pop culture may be dead but a good Star Wars trilogy pinball machine would sell IMO. Even thought it's one of Sterns best selling games ever - a lot of people were disappointed with Steve Ritchie's SW game and have been asking for another one.

Not even remotely correct.

Episode VII – The Force Awakens had huge toy sales. By the time the second movie came out in that trilogy, they'd already entered chapter 11. The fact they had massive debt, made a bad partnership deal with Amazon and other bad management mistakes was the demise of Toys R Us everywhere but Canada.

Another Star Wars pinball machine? That would be a bit much imo.

As for this remake in the post? I kinda doubt it. It's pretty far down the list of machines on the top 100 on Pinside. There are many others that would make more sense if they were to do a remake.

Well at least if they remake Walking Dead, Stern will get a chance to correct the artwork on the game like they did on Metallica because currently Walking Dead looks like a Walking Turd! It is by far one of the ugliest games ever released in recent history. Even the LE model was an ugly turd.

I don't love the art either but as much as I like the game I wouldn't be interested regardless.

GB and Tron I would definitely take a look at a remaster.

Ya GB and Tron seem to be rumors that I am not sure will come to light. What we are all forgetting is that if you watched the video released by Stern about the remastering of Metallica, they said the band came to them requesting the remaster of their existing game. One of the band members is a pinheaded. I can’t say the same requests are coming from IP holders of GB and Tron. I personally hope LOTR gets redone or made completely new even which would be a great remaster too due to muted artwork.

Ghostbusters has some major toxicity attached to it, with the designer being convicted of child porn and charged with molesting a female family member. If they did remake it, the outrage machine would be fired up and target Stern big time. They'll likely avoid it imo.

I don't know how licenses work, but they may have to renew licenses if they want to do Tron, AC/DC, Simpsons, LoTR, Star Trek, Spider Man... which are all higher on the top 100 than Walking Dead (No, not saying they should do any of these... just some of these would be more popular if they did it)

I think that's over reacting a bit. Sure there are woke morons out there that would freak out but this design belongs to Stern, not that asshole. With that train of thought someone could say that buying any Lyman coded game means you support suicide. Let's get real here!

It wouldn't even be pinball people that would do it. There are people out there constantly looking for something to be "outraged" about. It's not even "woke" (that word is so overused, it's ridiculous). They do it to make MONEY. They make 20+ minute videos and put it on Youtube, people watch them and get 5-6 bullshit ads...

Yeah I know. This was actually the first time I have personally used it. Folks hurl that as an insult which is so ironic. If you are NOT a racist, bigamist, or you think that all human beings deserve to be treated fairly, you are woke. Well I guess I'm woke.

I'm not sure many people care that much - it's a game and John isn't getting anything from it if it was re-released.

Game is so much fun - remastered would be amazing.
