The new mod from the Pinsound crew. Got it Friday and installed right away.
BLUF: Not worth the cost, at least for JP. May move it to JAWS as it seems likely more interactive.
Good:
- the look. Pretty impressive technology that looks awesome.
- Easy installation but takes time.
Less good:
- How it works - it analyses sound output to the speakers to trigger events. It’s hit and miss. Often misses the trigger, especially if a lot of other sounds are going on at the same time. It occasionally triggers events falsely As well. Since it analyses amplified/processed sound, my equalizer settings may be affecting the effectiveness negatively.
- The speaker light ring does almost nothing. Barely used in attract mode. Didn’t see any use in game.
- Main animation loop is 95% of what is seenIn game play. Events not getting triggered makes this boring. Reminds me of the “holographic” toppers that just loop animations.
The weird:
- forces the addition of a shaker enhancer board. Did not want it. Don’t know what it does. However the setup of the kit requires it. Did not fit with my Stern factory installed shaker boards - had to physically move one.
Despite not being super impressed I am glad I pre-ordered and paid much less than the final price. Also got the speaker rings for free as a pre-order gift. However as mentioned above they seem like an afterthought and is poorly implemented so far. The attract mode is the coolest part. In-game for JP is meh.
