Contacted P1AG about my machine and it has landed but needs to be hydro approved before they can release it. Does any other distributor even bother to do this? Makes me wonder how many unsafe machines are out there
I've had this happen as well. Can't remember which game it was but likely CGC Cactus Canyon. They hydro approve everything. Have an inspector come in and check components, power supply, etc..Bought many new machines over the years (from P1 and others), never heard of that before.
I'd say anything that's electric should have a sticker. A lot of cheap Chinese components out there. I suppose it's buyer beware. I wouldn't risk burning my house down if I wasn't sure. What does the hydro check actually check for? I have a couple of those stickers on my games, saying it was checked by ontario hydro back in the day. More curious than anything else about my own games, the ones in my house. How does a home owner know if they are "safe"? I'd say my games are in pretty good shape and I'm fairly thorough in going over them in detail, but I'm no electrician.
They said Stern factory hydro's their games and I believe JJP does as well. CGC, not so much.Bought many new machines over the years (from P1 and others), never heard of that before.
