I'm not that familiar with these - but the game turns on and has sound, but the CRT seems dead. Any advice on how to repair ? I already know I don't belong near a CRT, but can learn how to discharge it if necessary.

Best bet would be to take it out and bring it to someone that can refurbish the monitor. Brad Hicks is near the Toronto area and he's great with those.
