Hello. My bally wizard won't quit running when reset button is pushed. I have to manually click the telugu to get it to stop & kick out a ball. Can it be fixed, cleaned or something or shoukd I replace the entire thing
It's been a long time since Wizard (20+ years)
I manually turned the rotary wheel inside and reset a few times ,just to have random start points.
Old game, old wire, good luck.
I took a small file and cleaned contacts for hours on end.
Eventually, I couldn't get a regular EM guy.
Had to step up to Sys 11.
Electro-Mechanical games require maintenance. You can expect other things to fail or not work correctly - this is just the start. Your game likely needs a "tune-up". If you don't know what you are doing you will make it worse or ruin it. Don't use just any file or sand paper if you are doing this. Get the right tools for the job.
It's a big job if done right. But then your game should work for many years to come.
Your score motor is turning as a result of one of the switches being closed a I noted in the schematic above. Set all score reels to zero manually, check the tilt switches and make sure they are clean and adjusted properly.
Turn the game on and watch which relays are staying engaged. Then check if that relay is closing one of the switches driving the score motor. You can manually open the armature plate on the closed relay and it will buzz and want to pull back in. If however the score motor stops when you do this, the you know which relay is staying activated. Now you need to check the schematic to locate that relay and determine which switches are involved in activating and check each one for proper adjustment.
