The Baby Pac-Man is up and running
This was bought in May from an estate sale in the GTA. Game was reportedly working around five years ago, but unknown condition at the time it was listed.
Got it home and started looking things over. The monitor sort of came on and there was an audio start-up jingle, but that was it. The Vidiot board showed the correct LED flashes, but not so much on the MPU.
I tore down the playfield, which took about five minutes, lol. No ramps, pop bumpers or slings so pretty straightforward. I put new rubber in, LEDs and cleaned things up. Playfield has basically no wear at all.
Sorted out the locks on the coin door, control panel and back door and replaced the hardware that needed it. Went over the coin mechs, glass, bezel, cabinet rollers and pretty much everything else I could while waiting... for a new Alltek Ultimate MPU!
Got the new MPU at Pinfest on the weekend and installed yesterday. And just like that, Baby Pac-Man is up and running!
I wanted to at least get it going before investing anything else in it. Now will do little things like the joystick and flipper buttons, side trim, control panel overlay, monitor adjustments, etc. Fun little game. Nice variety for the line-up.
