Ever wondered what the deal is with pinball stencils? Me neither, to be honest, but it turns out they are Quite Interesting.

Hi all.
Last week we did an interview with the lovely Jess Rowe, the voice behind Whoa! Nellie, Big Juicy Melons' Melony Mellon.
She reveals how the game was nearly R rated - and more!

Hi all.
Henrik Maurer at Pinball Dreams just sent me one of the new licensed 3D Medieval Madness translites, hot off the press from Germany - and damn fine it is too. There's a quick review of it here:

Hi all.
The Pinball Assistant is free mobile pinball app which aims to have info, photos, fun facts and playing tips about every single pinball machine ever made. A kind of IPDB on Dexedrine, if you will, that you can carry around in your pocket. It's currently a Kickstarter project, and I...
Hi all,
I've been thinking about tilting recently, and talked to Roger Sharpe, Bowen Kerins and others about what how tilt settings affect games on location, gameplay, tourament strategies and cheating.
If you're interested, it's at...
Hi all,
I met a very interesting guy at Expo who's working on a non-fiction book that delves deep in to the world of pinball - the history, stories, people, the tournament scene and so on. Kind of like what Word Freak did about the world of Scrabble, or Walking With Einstein did for the...
Hi all.
Pinball Magazine 3 thumped onto my doorstep this morning - all 260 pages of it. Here's a review of what you can expect: you won't be disappointed, even if you're not a fan of Kiss.

Hi all,
I've just been talking to Nathan Drillot, one of the directors Wizard Mode - a feature length pinball movie about Vancouver's own Robert Gagno.
Nathan gives some tantalizing glimpses of what pinball fans in particular can look forward to in the movie. If you're interested the...
Heighway Pinball spilled some more beans about its Alien Pinball machine at a closed door, no cameras briefing in Wales yesterday. Most of those that have been made so far are heading for Canada
Here's what else I learned:

Hi all
I got to visit one of the world's very best EM restoration workshops recently and came across some incredible old machines from the 60's and 70s. If you're interested you can see some of the best pictures at:

Hi all.
I've been a bit busy recently so there's been a bit of a pause on Pavlov Pinball, but things are getting back to normal.
The modding business is getting increasingly professional, what with Stern and others entering the game, and licensed mods appearing. So I've been talking to Tim...
Hi all,
Here at Pavlov Pinball I've been looking in to what makes a great factory topper. Here's what I came up with, and it's more than just flashing beacons....

Thanks Menace. Once I got the damn thing out I replaced the coil and plunger, and the plunger now moves smoothly in the coil. Put it all back and it's fixed! I don't know if the coil or the plunger was the problem as I couldnt see any damage to either, but it was an easy fix in the end.
Well the head is out and just a quick look at it. It seems that the vertical coil attached to the eyes has siezed in some way as the coil plunger doesn't move in the coil. I'll take it out and take a closer look. That faceless head is damn spooky...
Thanks Doug. I should have him out tonight and I'll hopefully see what the problem is. I've heard that that the eyes closed plunger is a common problem but not the coil itself. If the winding is broken is that simply a question of a new coil?
Thanks! I love mine too but at the moment it's in bits - seems like you have to remove half the upper playfield parts to get Ted's head out, which I need to do to find out why his eyes don't shut anymore. Still, its filthy back there so gives me a good opportunity to clean the ramp, tumble the...
