    HEP equivalents in Canada?

Agreed... but you'll only avoid re-import taxes on the value of the original machine. There are several guys down there that do this sort of thing on a semi-professional basis... unlike most of us Canucks ;) HEP, Allan Shope at Treasure Cove, Chad Keller, Jim McCune, Bryan Kelly, Mike Dallas...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Yeah, any graphics supply place will have it. I actually wanted 4mil.. but it seems like nobody carries it anymore. But 3 is acceptable. If you can't locate any easily and need some for a similar fix, let me know.

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

I think your next installment of the Menace Files should include a crash course on how to use one of these :D

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

And finally! Here's the finished shot with the legs on. I'll probably still use a Pincab Protector later on to help hide the area a little more (I didn't have a spare set on hand). The rest of my lower cab was in pretty nice shape, so this was a simple (1-2hrs) process that yielded the best...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Sorry for all the posts, but PREV or my ISP is not liking multiple images today. After sanding the wood lightly and cleaning it off (you can also seal it if you're really picky) I just applied the vinyl and pressed it right into my cut line. Then, using a fresh razor blade, trimmed it tight. If...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

The artwork on these cabs just peels away with almost no effort. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS ON OLDER GAMES! Once it was clean, I debated whether to try and paint the area. In the end, I decided that using a black vinyl would be closest to the original. After testing a few swatches I grabbed from work...

IRONING OUT THE WRINKLES: a quick guide to repairing cabinet corners on The Shadow Okay, there's been a lot of playfield stuff posted and linked here so far. I am working on several playfields right now and will touch on any interesting aspects of those later... but here's an experiment I...

    Gandalf Mod

Nobody does. Stern removed all the 'weapons' from the figures before the installed them. I was lucky enough to find a huge lot of used LOTR toys on eBay and almost all the weapons were included. For about $20 I was able to put them all back in. Looks way better. If you can find the Armies of...

    Gandalf Mod

I saw that same post. I bet it looks awesome. I found and installed the real staff from that Gandalf figure. Wonder if it can be modified to work with it? I'd be interested in some basic details on the bulb used and connection points... although I promised myself, no more work on LOTR :?

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Ha! Show me a pic of that PF installed in your game and then I'll be impressed. Or, just sell it to me when I find me a busted up I500 :D Those damned corrections didn't end up being so minor either! Got to bust out my new airbrush on that one... and then there was the mysterious bleeding...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Forgot about that one. First time I let anyone talk me into working on a populated playfield. I guess I should just be happy you let me remove it from the game

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Sure thing Dan. But, I warn you, it's a big thread. I wrote it as I was doing the project and it took a good 8 months. I learned a lot and had a ton of great encouragement from some top restoration guys. This was my 3rd restore... but my first attempt at a full strip-down and rebuild... with a...

Dr@No's fun filled (and often long-winded) restorations

Hi Everyone, So I've been meaning to do this for a while, so here it goes. This will be a little spot in PREV where I can catalogue and share some of my restoration work and other pinball related projects (successes and failures alike) and hopefully help some people, as well as learn from...

    Predator Pinball artwork

YUUUP! Sounds like the game was up and down at the show. Some mixed reviews so far as a result. I think the boys still have a little tweaking to do before any production units go out the door.

    Local metal fabricator

I'd love to find a source too. I have an old Bally Special Force with bad rails and they're pretty hard to find. However, new rails might be worth more than the entire game :D System 11 rails can be had, but my Banzai Run would need custom ones.

Anyone putting in an order with Mad Amusements

I've had no issues but this seller has definitely taken some overseas buyers for a ride more than once. Sadly, he often is the only source for certain parts.

    WTB: HUO X-Men or Congo

Sorry Tom. All I have is my wolverine LE. There don't seem to be a lot of pros out there... and if any XM owners have held onto their games this long, chances are they are willing to hold them a bit longer now and finally enjoy the new code. At least that's my theory for the general lack of XM...

ColorDMD - Announces TOTAN as next title

That's a nice looking TOTAN! It was posted FS a couple of weeks back while we were in Montreal. I was seriously considering upgrading my 'project' TOTAN for that one... but just couldn't pull the trigger. Oh well... I'm sure I'll enjoy the restoration too. Just sucks that I probably won't be...
