The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

I got in on the Hobbit a couple of months ago, and now I'm really looking forward to it-hoping to get mine for next Christmas (which gives me a year to make room). After seeing what they pulled off with WOZ, it'll be great to see what they do to top it. Hopefully they've worked out some of the...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Finally got a chance to check out a WOZ at TOPL last night, and I'm pretty impressed. The game is coming along nicely-I managed to get the reverse flipper multiball stacked with the munchkin multiball at one point, which was pretty crazy to try to keep up with (although there's a bug where the...

    X-MEN LE price check

I haven't played a lot of Metallica, but I think how much you like that game is really going to depend on how much you like Metallica. For some reason I can see getting sick of the music in a game like that much sooner than with a regular game-not sure why. I'm probably biased since I own an...

    Johnny Mnemonic 5k?

Looks like a neat prototype, and probably one of a kind (or at least of a very few). No precedent for this particular item, so it's worth that much if someone is willing to pay for it. Not sure I'd want to buy a game like this to play though, since you can get a regular JM much cheaper than...

    Good Carnauba Wax?

So I've never actually waxed my games-usually I'll clean with novus1 (2 if it needs it) to get things like ball trails clean, and I can usually get at just about everything that really needs it without taking much off the playfield. What about waxing though-if I wanted to wax a DMD game, is it...

Stern's next pin going to be a Zombie Theme?

The Garth Ennis run on Punisher was mostly great, and when he was working with Steve Dillon again, it was almost like Preacher had come back for a little while :) The arc with Bullseye and the recent bits with the Kingpin were all really well done. Actually, if anyone liked that, you should...

Stern's next pin going to be a Zombie Theme?

No way they'd do a Punisher themed game, right?

    #6 Stern Whitestar MPU

Glad the issue got fixed! With the number of problems related to battery damage, it makes me think investing in a bunch of remote battery holders or NVRAM chips might not be a bad idea.

Would less expensive titles sell for 8k NIB?

You're probably right in thinking that the number of remakes is going to dry up-I don't think you'll see things much below the 8k price point, so that means there's a limited number of remake candidates. They could start producing parts in greater supply though, and I've seen the conversion kit...

The Pinball Diaries (what did you do today?)

Put the upgraded LOTR coils from PBL in on Friday-wow those things make a difference. This game plays really fast now-the ball return on the Legolas ramp is really quick, and backhands to the sword ramp are much snappier. Completing DTR is slightly easier, but I still ran into a weird case...

Pinball Pro vs Flipper Fidelity Speakers?

My LOTR came with the pinball pro set in it, and it sounds great, but I don't have a game with the FF speakers to compare to. I didn't really think it would make that much of a difference, but it's way clearer than the stock speakers, and the sub makes a nice difference. Really only matters...

    Striker's got a new friend!

Enjoy-it's a fun game, and fast as hell. I've had mine for a couple of years now, and have still never made it to powerdown.

    PAPA and PAPAtv New Website

New tutorial up for Indy 500: http://papa.org/2013/10/23/indianapolis-500-tutorial/ Not a game I've played too often, since you don't find many out there, but it's pretty neat. Also nice to see the multi-camera setup is back for the videos-these can't be quick to produce.

ColorDMD - Now Supports Stern SAM/Whitestar

Neat-I wonder if the process they use for adding colour will work with Stern games as well? TSPP could work well with a ColourDMD (although that's one place that the yellow dots fit).

MCMElectronics - Tenma 60W Digital Soldering Station on Sale

Re: MCMElectronics - Tenma 60W Digital Soldering Station on That's kind of what I was thinking anyway. I just hate paying more for shipping than I need to. I figure I've got an OK variable wattage iron, but I should really get something temp controlled. Any idea how this compares to the...

MCMElectronics - Tenma 60W Digital Soldering Station on Sale

Re: MCMElectronics - Tenma 60W Digital Soldering Station on I'd be up for one of these-anyone else?

    Visiting with JPOP

True-I think one of the only ones that didn't was the mini flipper and ramp on the left outlane to let you jump back into play.

    Visiting with JPOP

Did he actually announce that they were going to do an Alice game? Not based on the old F14 conversion that Hanley had out at the church I hope. Looked like a cool concept, but one done in the new MG/Zombie adventure style could make for a really neat game.

    Demolition Time by Cardona

Given that it's a "fair use" kind of project, working NGG up with some Caddyshack based modes could be fun.
