To Sell or Not To Sell ACDC Premium

The nice part about a game like that is that if you want to change it up for something different, you can always trade its value for something else. If it's not getting played, and you don't see yourself going back to it, bring in something else, but don't leave an empty spot for the Hobbit...

    JJP "Epic" Annoucnement

Could be game 3, or could be something as simple as bringing on at least one cast member for custom hobbit speech. Another possibility is saying that ALL hobbit LE games will be available this December (basically, that they're starting production early), rather than shipping them as they're...

Super Metroid Speedrunning video with commentary

I don't usually watch speed run videos, but this one is a particularly good example from the last Awesome Games Done Quick. 4 players head to head on Super Metroid, with some great commentary that not only points out what to look for (live), but offers some background on speedrunning and...

The Hobbit Full Playfield Posted by JJP

New update from JJP the other day with at least a partial whitewood. Not much there yet, but I guess that confirms that those squares on the sketch are actually popups of some kind (probably trolls as has been speculated). Pinball news overview...

BSD - The one that got away... and came back!

I still have yet to buy the same game twice, but I did think about getting another STTNG after selling mine.

    Pinburgh FULL!

It's pretty amazing that it sold out that quickly-good luck to all who are going! Sounds like a great time-I really need to make it down there one of these years.

    Hello LUCI!

Very nice-a much better game than BK :)

I bought a house!! (Building a game room)

Sounds like a great plan, and if you decide you want to put in a bar later on, you at least have plumbing if you want a sink down there. If you're getting it sealed in, just make note of where the pipes are behind the wall-means making a smaller hole later on. Having a month to move is also...

    Price Check-Coke Machine

Thanks for the feedback-only other thing that's keeping me back from selling it is that I can't remember where the hell I put the keys for it. I know I had them at one point, but they seem to have disappeared in the last move. How hard are machines of this vintage to break into and replace the...

Buying a first pin.... Etiquette and moving?

I usually use a ratchet strap to secure the head, and cardboard to protect the corners/siderails, and then I'll usually shrink wrap on top of that, more to have a layer to protect the cabinet than to hold the head down. I'd rather take a few more minutes to pack things up than have something...

The Great Canadian Pinball Tailgate Party

If the CPCs are running again this summer, why not tie in with that? Most of the same crowd as at the auctions, and the tournament part is already covered.

I bought a house!! (Building a game room)

Built on top of the tiles huh? Same problem I had here actually, except it was crappy subfloor. Not fun to cut that stuff out from underneath if you want to keep the wall but replace the floor. Shouldn't be expensive to remove-worst case get a sledgehammer and do it yourself.

HOLY SHIT IT'S COLD OUT THERE!

Yeah, saw that this morning-I'm working from home today. Kind of surprised they didn't kill buses yesterday too.

I bought a house!! (Building a game room)

The carpet I put in the basement is great-easy to clean, insulating, and it wasn't too expensive to do the whole basement. Glad that I did the floor before filling the basement-it'd be much harder to move everything afterwards. Hadn't realized that wall would be that easy to move-are there...

    Anti-Game Request (anti-cheat sheet) Thread

That video was actually what pushed me over the edge to buy the game in the first place.

    TV-50" Sony XBR1 1080p RPTV-$100 OBO

I bought this TV in Dec 2005 as one of the first 1080p sets available. Used it up until last year, when I wanted to upgrade to something bigger and thinner. This model suffered from a pretty nasty manufacturing defect though, and that's that the optical block started to fail after a while and...

    Price Check-Coke Machine

I've had this coke machine for a while now, and I honestly have no idea what it's worth. I saved it from getting dumpstered 12 years ago, and it should still work, but I really don't need it, and it's taking up space. It used to live in the Engineering Society office in Waterloo, where it sold...

    Zidware announces "ALICE IN WONDERLAND"!

So do we know what the final price will be? $1895 deposit, but nothing beyond that. Definitely sounds like an interesting theme/design, and he definitely has an aesthetic that he's going for. Probably not my favourite visualization of Alice in Wonderland (I think the Ralph Steadman version...

    The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug

If you stop thinking of it as an adaptation of the hobbit, and more of a LOTR prequel, then it makes it a lot better. Second movie was fun, and already seeing things that could end up in the pin.

Stern Rolling Stones LE vs Non-LE

The LE has the post save feature on it, so there's extra buttons on either side to control left, right, and center posts (like a UK game). They've had one out at starburst for ages if you want to go try one.
