Hi, Everyone... it's been a really long time since I hung out here, but I've been slowly pulling back from the hobby over the last few years and have been letting go of some of my pins. Today I'm listing what is probably my most detailed restoration: an original 1998 Bally Cactus Canyon (#192 of 925 made)

First off.... I am aware that you can buy a reproduction for less. I'm hoping there are still some buyers out there that prefer to own an original piece of pinball history and, in this case, the last standard pinball machine that Bally Williams ever produced. My asking price also reflects the high level of restoration that went into bringing this machine back to like new condition. It's the next best thing to buying NIB. And finally, the code on this machine is complete and really awesome! No more incomplete rules and no waiting for future updates on a reproduction machine.

This example is running CCC (Cactus Canyon Continued) code that was developed by Erik Priepke (epthegeek) on the PROC platform. It's a fantastic rule set that completes the original intent of the designers and then goes way beyond it. Aside from being a truly complete code which includes all the Bart Brothers challenges and the new Bionic Bart wizard mode, it also has all the original gameplay objectives. Cactus Canyon Continued also features 3 different Polly Peril modes, Drunken multi-ball (with reversed flippers), the hilarious Cowboys vs. Aliens mode, a cool EM themed match play extra game mode and several other fun features that are unique to this rule set. Here's the original Pinside thread if you want more details.

As for the restoration, here's a rough list of what was done. I have hundreds of hours into this project and even more cash invested than what I'm asking... but it's time to let it go to someone else who'll enjoy it.

  • Full cabinet strip-down, sanding, repair and cleaning
  • Cabinet re-paint, warning text backbox silk-screening and new decals
  • New cabinet hardware such as rails, legs, shooter rod, door etc.
  • Original playfield was stripped, repaired, touched up with airbrush and sealed with several coats of high quality automotive clearcoat
  • Any damaged/broken metal brackets, scoops or poppers replaces with improved parts from Mantis Amusements
  • Hole and shooter lane protectors
  • NOS plastics installed
  • All new ramps
  • New mine mountain and mine entrance
  • All mechs taken apart, cleaned and re-built
  • ColorDMD installed
  • Upgraded Pinsound speaker kit
  • P-ROC board and shuttle PC system fully integrated into the back-box
  • LED lighting throughout
  • New targets, pop-caps, lane guides, rubber and so many other parts
  • Repro manual, cabinet chart, S/N stickers and original coin box
  • Custom original rule card set designed by me
  • Also includes the original numbered collector's plaque that Bally Williams sent out to buyers in 1998
There are probably more things than I can remember.
This game is a fantastic shooter with so much to do that I've barely managed to see everything on the new code.

No expense was spared on this pin. This wonderful game was my most accomplished and favorite restoration project to date.

I will consider partial trades for just two titles (Godzilla Premium or a classic Stern Quicksilver). Otherwise, I'm just looking to sell.

Here are some photos, including a few from the restoration.
Please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

Thanks!
Adriano

Someone trade this guy the Godzilla and Quicksilver to keep him 'pinned' into the hobby! See what I did there?

Glad to read your post Drano. It's been a while since we talked last. All the best to you fine sir!

Thank you ☺️
I've still got a few games kicking around... and some projects to finish. I'm not leaving anytime soon. Funny enough, I want to dive into some of my old and rare woodrail restoration projects next. They've been sitting for a long time and I'm looking forward to the challenge. That being said, I wouldn't turn my nose up at a Godzilla. It would be a great addition to my movie room.

Just bumping this thread.
As I've mentioned before, I do have a lot tied up into this restoration, but I'm also happy to entertain reasonable offers
