I want to see how the character party gets formed.
D&D is a social experience.
Maybe IC will make one with other online games.....

I hadn't thought about the character progression, but if they did it with Venom and TMNT, then I'm sure it'll be there for D&D in some form. Lots of opportunities to do something neat with that.

Could be a challenge for character development with 3 balls if shots are tough which could frustrate new players away from the game.

will be interesting for sure, I did not have d&d on my pinball bingo card for this year lol.

Just finished the dealer preview.. some really neat stuff going on here! All information should be live now, but here is a summary. As noted, I will also have a hands on impression next Tuesday.

Trailer

Gameplay Overview

HIGHLIGHTS
- Most advanced mech ever on the dragon. You battle him and he can fire up to an 8-ball multiball attack at you. It also has multi-directional hit reactions
- Dungeon crawl mech that pops up and combines shots with video screen gameplay
- Choose your character at the start of an adventure
- Dungeons rotate weekly to keep it fresh. Can strategize with your friends for the best path to take
- Gelatinous cube can trap your ball, must release it before it eats it
- Shop to spend your gold on for items and bonuses
- Shield mech by the flippers you can activate with the action button to raise and protect the ball from draining, also acts to line up key shots on left and right ramps
- Pinsave feature to keep your dungeon progress if you wish, or you can start fresh each time
- Quieter power supply fan

PRO Vs. PREM/LE
- Dragon not as advanced. Just moves up and down to guard the gold. Doesnt spit out balls
- Dungeon crawl mech doesnt go up and down to venture into, there's an eerie light to elude to it instead

Reminder, all Stern machines now offer 1-year parts warranty.

AVAILABILITY
- LEs available end of January. Pre-order here -> D&D Limited
- Pros early Feb. Pre-order -> D&D Pro
- Premiums mid to late February. Pre-order -> D&D Premium

If you are an operator you will get prio on your orders. Note, you need a verifiable location that I must pass on to get this priority.

Looks like can be fun even for people who do not follow d&d, I do worry about the dragon mech over time but looks like a really entertaining machine.

Dragon looks like an evolution of the t-rex mech on JP, and honestly, what Smaug should have been able to do on the Hobbit. Sounds like some ideas from Venom/Mando getting pulled in here as well. There's potential to be a good home game with the progression, which of course goes away with any kind of tournament play. Any word on who's lead on the code yet?

Love the idea of saving your progress between games... adding in the ability to randomize repeatable dungeon quests in the mix to make it more replayable sounds interesting.
It ultimately has to shoot well to be fun, but I appreciate how Dwight is pushing things with code from his time with SW, Mando, TMNT, etc...
They also look like they really invested in music and callouts... a part of what makes great games like MM, AFM and Deadpool so awesome.
Hopefully some cool "Pinball moments" and this machine could be a real winner regardless of if you're a D&D fan or not...
Can't wait to try it out.

I'm not a D&D fan... so the theme does nothing for me.

Dragon looks like the T-Rex mechanics and art/look/screen is showing lots of resemblance to BKSOR.

The up-post shield will be interesting to see as per durability....reminds me of Freddy...and the PF wear issues it had.

The durability of the Prem/LE dragon will be interesting to follow...I suspect that they will be issues. The T-Rex was a far shot, the dragon will get pummelled being so close to the flippers.

Maybe Pro is the way to go on this one, especially for operators.

I will try it when I see one available, but I have no interest as a home pin....unless I win one LOL.

Yeah I also predict these mechs are going to be a nightmare. I’ve learned enough times when they say “first time, most advanced” stay away. I would love to play it and hopefully the premium so I can smash up on that dragon but for sure my wallet is safe.

It looks like both dragons have bash sensors, but only the prem/LE has l/r and directional sensing. Not sure how critical the directional hits could be if that's the case. Besides that, the only change between pro/prem is the popup for the dungeon entrance, which I'm assuming gets replaced by something else that will stop the ball (shoot into the shopkeeper perhaps). That's not to say that the dragon isn't cool, and the premium has 8 vs 6 balls, probably because two are kept in the dragon at all times.

Pro looks good. Dragon spitting balls is cool but the pro dragon is still very decent and physical ball locks don't excite me that much.

Mechs should be ok, bash toy probably similar material to the shark in Jaws.
