And this is why it didn't sell lol.. I've been buying and selling pins pretty consistently for some time now and the premiums i get are 11.5 or 12 k ... if people want to pay more that's fine. Even the premiums i sell usually go for 12k or below. Me asking 11.5 is not an absurd price because my history in buying tells me i can get one likely for 11.5 or 12, i feel the comment is really about you not liking my ask price because you value that pin at 14k because you want 14k lol. I'm rooting for you, you might even get it, I'm just saying, i got 11.5 for a jaws premium if anyone wants to get rid of theirs.
Difference is, I don't need to sell the pin. If someone wants a brand new game with 22 plays and to save the GST, etc., then this is the best option. If I don't sell it, then I will keep it. I want to buy a new Jaws 50th, this is why it is for sale. Some times I actually prefer to buy a used game over new as you get to play it out of the box and not hope it arrives damaged in the box and then having to deal with getting it returned, etc.

Hey you do you.. no need for explanation. I’m just advertising what I’m willing to pay, what I’ve paid in my history of buying pins and following the market . I feel the comment “ you can’t get a premium for 12k” is what stirred the pot where in reality, yes , yes you can. If people get more awesome, if people don’t want to sell for less, awesome.

It was a different person who said you can’t get a premium for that price, not pinballjah

The response was as a whole and not directed to any specific individual. Just articulating how I see the market and from my experiences. Certainly not picking people out..

You can’t get a used premium near that price for jaws
Premium, 120 plays, $11,600 CAD located in Belle River, Ontario. Was on Pinside for 4 days as I considered buying it

one game does not set the market , and maybe he will find his prem for his price range . just saying
100%. Just proves that there are options in those prices ranges and that it is possible.

Again, people can ask what they want for their pin and everyone jumps in to state that every time. On the flip side, everyone is also entitled to offer what they want. Can't agree with one side without agreeing with the other.

Each title is specific. The majority of stern premiums are in your price range. Jaws premium is currently number 3 pinball on pinside. I can see even you want it. You shouldn’t generalize. This is not a normal stern. Mandolorian, John wick, foo fighters you’re in the ballpark at 11.5k. Not jaws premium.

OMG now THAT was funny! Using the Pinside top 100 as an excuse for overpricing a used game that’s still in production is laughable. You realize of course that list is manipulated by owners/fanboys all the time. Look carefully at that list. You’ll find that the top positions are held by games that are long playing. I.e. a game that makes a newb feel good about themselves because they can play more than 2-3 mins at a time.

JAWS is one of those(like GZ, MB, MM). It’s why it’s no longer in my lineup and why I stopped playing it months before selling it. Knowing that I have to commit 45-60 mins any time I press start is a major turn off.

In any case you’re talking about a game still in production. It makes no sense to pay near NIB price and then have no warranty or support. Just buy new. Used Stern Premiums do usually sell for about 10-12k depending on title. Jaws is at the top of that range for sure. I just don’t agree that it’s somehow worth more than that.

BTW Not trying to come across as a dick. Just sharing my opinion on the subject like everyone else in this thread. This isn’t a FS thread and no bashing is going on here. If you’re going to reference Pinside then why not reference the fact that JAWS premium is selling used at 10-11kCAD? Even lower than wht we are discussing here…

The Canadian market tends to be higher than the US one. at the end of the day, it's all about supply and demand. I wish @ChickenCatcher the best of luck finding what you're looking for at your price range and all sellers getting their price on whatever machine they are selling. If your want ad isn't fulfilled OR if you don't sell your machine "relatively quickly", then adjustments may be necessary.... you do you... ;)

Play count to me doesn't matter if the machine is looked after. That is something you should be looking at when you buy the machine if there is wear and tear.

If the machine is well serviced that would be fine. IE flippers replaced, rubbers replaced, no damage to playfield

While they are works of art, pinball machines are not paintings.

If you prefer them as works of art with flashing lights, you might be better off buying posters and LED lights from Amazon. It's gonna be cheaper ;)

2-3000 plays, like @DeDoseD stated: as long as it is well maintained...and according to the Stern Manual, regular maintenance should occur at roughly 500 games (monthly-ish if set commercially)

If it had 20,000 plays? perhaps that would make a difference on a Spike machine...but most WPCs have at least that amount of games played on them...

...Sad that playfield quality has gone downhill since "Diamond Plate"...

You’re not supposed to play your games. This way you lose less when you sell the game you never played. Sounds exciting, surprised the hobby hasn’t taken off
