I have a FS post selling mirror blades in which I mentioned how I just got into this hobby and being a maker have been creating mods for my pins. I thought I would create a forum post here for anyone interested in seeing what I created.

Eternal Volume Control

I created a custom harness which plugged inline with the internal volume control door module.
Sayal in Burlington didn't have the parts I wanted so with a little improvisation was able to make it work without having to order anything.
I scanned the door and created vinyl stickers for it. This sticker also helped me align my drill holes for the buttons.

Power Supply Fan Upgrade

I am surprised Stern is okay with how loud their Power supply fans are. I read online that lower CFM fans are okay and that they just run longer.
I found a great fan on Amazon and made my molex harness to fit the power supply. I would not recommend doing this without the right tools and experience. I did not have the correct pins but made it work. Would have been better if i got the proper connector and not have to reused the one from the old fan.

Aux 12vDC power output

Reusing the harness that came with my shaker motor and popping the pins to realign them I connected them to a pair of Wago connectors.
I plugged that into the 12vDC output and now power my topper and cabinet lights with it.

Under Cabinet Lights

I found playing this game in a dark room was more enjoyable. Wish the projector was brighter.
But I needed ambient light to make it not so dark.
Using my new 12v tap i used some LED lights and stuck to bottom of my pin.
Now when the Pin is turned on the Lights are always on.

Future project is figuring out the best way to tap into light outputs and have them active other lights. Kinda like how pinstadium does it. Would love to have my flashers activate lights in my topper and under cabinet. Maybe even make my own pin stadium. Not sure if NPN can handle the amount of LEDs I may want to run through them or if maybe a solid state relay may work with fast switching contact.

Acrylic Mirror Blades

One of the mods worth making more of and selling are my mirror blades made from 1/16" mirrored acrylic. Selling would help me recoup the cost spent on material.
I am not sure of other Stern tables but mine has very tight clearance from the playfield to the side walls. To protect the blades from the playfield scratching them I designed my own version of Blade Protectors out of very thin Styrene which holds it folded shape pretty well. The protectors included will not have that orange tape, I just put it on to see how it looked.

I designed my mirror blades to cover the backbox hinge when mounted to have a better final look. I don't plan on removing my backbox anyway and doesn't effect folding the backbox. Cutting a hole could be an option.
I also am using 3M double sided tape to mount them as well. Using the screw method on the bottom like other blades didn't work well with acrylic.

Custom Topper

I've seen people use Funko Pop dolls at toppers and suggest my kids could get me Stranger Things Figures as a Christmas Present.

Once home from Family visiting I decided to make a topper with what I had around the house. I was surprised how quickly this came together.

I had scrap mirror from my blade project and figured out a way to mount it curved to a 1x2 piece of wood.
I had some caution tape which when with the theme.
I cut the logo out of vinyl.
I added some Neon Led behind the wood. I'd rather have a light in the front but when with this. Figure the back light give it a spookier look.
The curved mirror is neat. As you move your head left to right the reflections give a morphing effect. Kinda goes with the theme and kinda does what the Stern topper does giving it a depth type of effect.
I used some 3M Dual Lock velcro to attach it. It's pretty expensive tape at $20 a foot but works great. I used about 2" of it.
I drilled a small hole in the plastic cap at the top of the backbox and put the 22g wire through it.
