    No Longer Looking

This actually comes up every year when Penny Arcade does their Child's Play drive. They buy a ton of video games etc for children's hospitals, but again, they can't take any used stuff, so it's done mostly though Amazon or cash donations.

The Hobbit Full Playfield Posted by JJP

Looks a little more interesting than WOZ-definitely intrigued.

    So I get an email....

I actually wish there was something else you could do for p2p transactions that wasn't just cash. I hate trying to deal with that much cash when buying machines, since it's always a pain in the ass to get to the bank, withdraw that much, and then be paranoid about losing it. Interac transfers...

SOLD Itchy and Scrathcy figures for TSPP

Re: itchy and scrathcy figures for the simpsons pinball part Probably a good thing to keep on hand-I've ended up breaking off both the mallet and the axe over the years, but I picked up spares of each and just left the busted ones on the PF. They'll come in handy if/when I sell the game, and...

All my pins under one roof - the TRUE holy grail!

Nice effect with the brick-should look good with the games set up in there.

    PinGolf objectives

For TZ, I thought about trying to get something like 3 dead ends, because that's an odd shot that most people don't go for. Could also do collect 10 hitchhikers or something, but you'd need to turn on tournament mode to make it more fair. With Mystery Spot, I figured that with 5 balls, it'd...

    Ruins of Detroit

Wow, I had no idea it'd gotten that bad down there. It's really the sort of thing that used to happen more with old single-industry towns, just on a much larger and more modern scale. When your entire economy is based on a product people don't want anymore, this is what happens I guess...

    PinGolf objectives

I was a little surprised that you weren't going with an entry fee to start, but yeah, $5 mulligans might make more sense. Of course, when you end up having to buy in multiple times a night for no limits, that can start adding up too. Fun format though. As for other objectives, how about...

    PinGolf objectives

Some of the tasks were surprisingly hard-getting both locks on Fireball proved tricky, both because of repeated rejections from the saucers, and people accidentally hitting the releases. Getting the monger up on IM was also harder than usual when the game is set up the way Adam's is. It's good...

It's official! My next game is...

Hey, I'd buy a $4000 MB right now :) It's amazing how your perceptions change after being in this for a while-suddenly what sounded ridiculous doesn't seem like a stupid amount of money.

July 8 2013 Storm Flooding Aftermath Pics

Yeah, that's really weird. We had a bunch of rain, but nothing near that bad, and didn't lose power at all. I'd thought most of the worst if it was further south (lakeshore etc), but some of those pics from the 401 are pretty scary. Glad that I left work early yesterday.

    Tilt bob placement

I've seen this happen with boxes stacked on the heads of machines (thankfully empty), so this is one reason why I don't store anything on top of my games. Even toppers have to be well attached-I don't want anything falling off, or worse, falling off and breaking the glass. As for tilt...

    Tilt bob placement

You have to play around with it for a while to get the right height. If you get frustrated playing, lower it to let you get away with more. If people can start walking your machines across the room, it's probably a little too liberal.

Finally... New XM Code 1.3 is out!

I've played a few games with it, and mostly it's the last version with a few tweaks. I didn't notice that the combos did a whole lot with scoring, but I did like the unique combos / names. I'm guessing you pulled those out of the browser? I've definitely gotten a few of those. A couple of...

    ToPL Jun 17 2013

OK, good, it wasn't just me that thought the DMD on CCC looked strange. Still, there's some neat stuff in there, and it's a fun change from the original. The "tribute" modes are a fun idea-I like the way they use the "bad guy" targets as "trolls" for the MM tribute. Great TOPL night as...

    My Newest Edition

Enjoy the game-there's supposedly another code update coming soon. If you want to do better, start stacking heroes/villans. I usually go for something like Sentinels + wolverine, storm + hellfire/brotherhood, and then maybe one of each with magneto MB (although ideally you have all heroes...

Xbox One/PS4-anyone buying into another console generation?

Re: Xbox One/PS4-anyone buying into another console generati So far it sounds like Microsoft is trying to come up with a systemic approach to the whole thing, and Sony is telling publishers "do whatever you want". We'll see how that works.

Xbox One/PS4-anyone buying into another console generation?

Looks like preorders for both are up now: Ps4 at 399, XB1 at 499. I know that I'll be in for one for sure, but not sure which will win out in the long run. I used my 360 almost exclusively this time around, and I've managed to get some good deals on Xbox stuff from friends who work at...

    WTB-AFM, LOTR

Looking for either an Attack From Mars or a Lord of the Rings. Doesn't need to be CQ-I'm much more interested in playing the games than looking at them. I have a CV that I can put in as part of a trade deal if that helps.

    New Toy Story pinball machine

Hey, if nothing else, spare parts would be easy to get, and the build quality on Lego is probably better than most pinball parts. That stuff is manufactured to some pretty incredible specs. Toy story could be an awesome theme for a pin though-family friendly enough to be in public locations...
