Ah the dead horse....People have been complaining about Stern's quality since the beginning. My HUO Spiderman, LOTR, and TSPP look as good as the day I got them. I've seen HUO examples of Shrek, IM, Batman, and more. All look perfect. And function without issue.
I have to admit I'm looking at...
I wasn't initially a fan of the artwork. The whole package looks good and I'm warming up to it. I bet it looks amazing in person. Nicely done. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Cheers,
Duane
Good advice so far.
One piece of advice is dead wrong. Shrink wrap is never enough to wrap the head. I've had the heads come lose on a couple of games. The problem with the shrink wrap is it gets ripped when putting the game in the van/truck. If the tear is large enough, the shrink wrap will...
Not sure it's still a "poor man's" BK. I think they may be equal in value now.
Very cool thread, Rob. Will make your games unique. I like that each one is addressed to you. Very cool.
Cheers,
Duane
Like the title says, I'm looking at getting one of the following:
- Dirty Harry
- Congo
- No Good Gofers
- Players Condition Funhouse
- Tron - I know Nick has one for sale, just exploring my options before I make a decision.
Cheers,
Duane
Re: FS/FT: CFTBL (pics added)
I've posted hi-res pics. Click on them to zoom in:

In this pic, if you zoom to full, you can see where the mylar has lifted on the edge. Just below her left breast (really that's where it's lifted :-)) you...
I feel for you guys in the GTA. I lived through the storm in 98 and it was terrible in Ottawa. The picture you guys posted are something else. Be very careful over the next few days when walking outside. I remember walking in 98 and all of branches were falling at random This was in an old...
The game is in good overall shape and functions 100%. I've completely cleaned the underside of the playfield. I've vacuumed the cab, cleaned all inserts with q-tips, replaced burnt bulbs under the playfield, cleaned the mirror, removed and cleaned the clear plastic on the playfield. I've...
Re: WTB: Last Action Hero, Dirty Harry, Road Show or Monopol
If you were there, you would have pulled out your wallet :D It's one of the nicest Roadshow I have ever seen. The only one nicer was a HUO I saw many years ago and thinking about it further it might actually be nicer. The playfield...
Re: FS: LOTR----(Keeping)
Yes, I've been collecting since 1998. Selling a game before Christmas, in the past, was very easy. I've even delivered a couple of games for Christmas! Good memories there, perhaps for another thread.
This year is definitely different. Things are being posted, but...
Re: FS: LOTR----(Keeping)
I like your thinking, Lee. A "pinball journey" :D Love it and love mine as well. I cann't say how much I appreciate Doug's efforts in getting mine back up and running. I love the game. It's a masterpiece.
To the op, I think you may have lucked out. Play it some...
Re: FS: LOTR----(Keeping)
This is a strange year. In the past, it's always been better to sell than buy during this time of year.
Could be the announcement of MMLE combined with how good ST Premium is looking....people aren't in a rush to part with cash right now.
Price was definitely...
I think $5K for the STTNG and $6K for the LOTR. Both sound really nice. I'd list them higher and see what you get. The LOTR, in particular, sounds really nice and I wouldn't be surprised if you get more than $6K. Plus you are in Calgary where the streets are paved with gold it seems.
Cheers,
Duane
I agree. It can be a nasty game. I remember when it first got delivered to the University centre way back. That game made the operator a TON of cash very quickly. It and frickin PInbot. Right beside each other! Nasty, but fun games.
I enjoy the game, just not sure I would buy one at full...
I don't know what they sell for in today's market, but I wouldn't recommend the game. Very limited rules. Fun to play on location or at someone's home -- not your home :D
Cheers,
Duane
