That swisstrax stuff is exactly what I've been searching for for my garage and deck. $3 sq foot is great compared to redoing the entire surface of my deck.

I have the tile in my garage/workshop and it's a great insulator and was relatively low cost. Costco sells it online.

Epoxy floors are great Adam. My Pandor shop for our AV business is 10,000 square feet and industrial manufacturing grade epoxy floor was installed 4 and a half years ago. More expensive than I can even recall, and likely out of your price range as you have stated above. Definitely the best solution, but too spendy for this application I would think.

By contrast, the new Décor shop with BPL does not have the budget for an epoxy floor either. I have no idea if swisstrax is a good product or not, but I am looking it up now as well for Décor / BPL shop as it is in the 2000 to 3000 square feet as well. Hope the reviews prove favourable.

Yea I saw the moto floor as well, I think swisstrax stuff is of a higher quality, but you like the tiles? Have you had any issues with buckling?

I don't like the idea of going with the ones with slats in the tile as I don't want the dirt and crap to get trapped underneath.

The other cool thing is that I can draw patterns in the floor like this:

Also I agree with everyone that Expoxy floors are great, what I'm trying to figure out is if it is really that much greater than a garage floor tile so make the costs make sense.

ATM I really leaning toward the tile since it fits in better with my budget

If it's a choice between one or the other I'd be rolling with the tile over epoxy, not just because of cost. The tiles will be much more forgiving on the feet / legs, and the cost is a bonus.

One thing to think about with the tile though is you will still want to seal the concrete regardless to keep the dust down, so there will be a cost for that on top of the tile.

I also plan to put a cheap foam or rubber underlay underneath to help with the fatigue as well.

At this point I can get a sample case of tiles from Swiftraxx for $20 so I'm gonna go that route and see what I think.

No buckling... but I also didn't push them tight against the walls. You have to leave a little area for expansion/contraction.

Funny, the first thing I did when laying out my garage floor was to see if the mixed packs of silver and black would do that very same Space Invaders image
I opted for standard checker pattern in the end.

I'm sure the motofloor and swiss trax are very similar products. I'd go with the Canadian one and it's a bit less too

I edited my last post probably after you replied. Regardless of what you put down, you will also still want to seal the concrete with something to keep the dust down. (it will also help with moisture)

Yea but I can go with a paint or something simple like that, doesn't have to be fancy or expensive.

Nope, just get a good concrete sealer from a building supply place that comes in the large gallon pail. I can take a picture of the stuff that I used tonight and send it to you, great stuff. (you will still have to prep/etch the floor but it's not as critical)

That is pretty awesome! Wish I could use it, but looks like you were using the ribtrax floor tiles and I be using the floortrax style and it doesn't come in the same range of colors unfortunately

I was thinking for my garage. so Ribtrax works best. You've inspired me! I have a 20' x 20' garage. Big enough to get two cars in, but not enough room to get in any pins. Originally I was thinking of Megaman on one side and then maybe Metal Man on the other side.

I'm ordering a sample today. I'm going to try out the Ribtrax stuff on my deck. The wood is still very intact, but you don't want to walk on it because it'll give you splinters. I think this stuff will work great. I'm curious how they edge it though if you are essentially using it like a large mat.
