Here is some interesting news I ran across today, Williams was bought by Scientific Games as of 10-18-2013 for for approximately $1.5 billion in cash.

I just skimmed over the linked page briefly, but I don't think this will have any impact on the pinball world. Is there any news or rumours to indicate otherwise?

All about casino's....nothing to do with pinball.
WMS slot machines are the major force on any casino floor. 1.5B just bought them a full revenue stream and world wide customer base.

I went to a casino 2 weeks ago and it was interesting to see the WMS and Bally slot machines.
The Bally ones have the exact same logo as later Bally machines like Cactus Canyon. Slots seem to have the same kinds of innovations pinballs do, like an LCD "backglass" and generic art on the sides to change up the game while keeping the same machine.
I really don't think they have any interest in getting back in the pinball business. When you see that many machines in a Wal-Mart sized building, and think of how many others just like that are out there, I don't think there's any sense for them in getting up to speed to produce 5000 pinballs a year.

Stiffler is right on...that genie slot machine topper is a straight repurposing (re: copy) of the TOTAN genie. Saw it in Vegas when I was down there a few months back. The whole slot is done in the TOTAN style art. I'm not familiar with the machine, so I couldn't tell you if anything else was lifted directly from the pin to create the slot.
