I'm sure its been mentioned a dozen times but I am currently touching up the PF on my 1963 CC Fire Cracker and would like to clear coat it when done.

What do you use to clear your play fields when done restoring them? I would LOVE to do an automotive clear for the depth and strength but just don't have a shop locally that I know well enough or would trust.

Plus its a Chicago Coin so don't want to dump a TONNE of $$ into it.

KBS Diamond Finish--you can brush it on as its self-leveling... or it also comes in a rattle can. Or there's always that 2K spray in a can, which I personally have not used. Those are the two main homebrew options.

I use a BASF two part auto clear that we commonly use at work... but only because I have access to good facilities. I'm sure I would be equally happy using the KBS product otherwise.

The KBS product is an ideal in home, non-spray clearcoat solution for a modern DMD pin IMO. I've used it a couple times. I also own a 90s WMS pin whose PF was entirely clearcoated with a foam brush using KBS. It looks great and has held up very well.

Having said that, I believe this flooring product is well suited for an older pin like your '63 Fire Cracker:

I plan to use this in semi-gloss when I get around to restoring my Barracora (someday).

Where did you purchase the KBS Diamond Finish?? The only seller near me in Brampton never responds to my inquiries.

Why would they not use the same product? Just curious.
