Just thought I would chime in.
New pinball addict here, and just wanted to say hi to the members. I have to say pinball is something I greatly remember from my youth growing up in Halifax Nova Scotia and "hanging out" at the local arcades. I recently rediscovered this passion when by chance had an opportunity to buy my first pin (Xenon).
Then it hit me and started dominating my thoughts. I needed more, so I search out information and started seeing what was out there and discovered that pinball is more than just playing a game. It is a wonderful combination of challenges from mechanical to electronics and art, all of which I admire which made it a perfect hobby for my later years.
We all love the variety of themes that pinball machines have to offer and this put me on the hunt for certain pins that I must have. The dilemma that most face, is the accessibility pinball machines and the challenge of building a collection that fits the individual.
That being said, I wish I had discovered this addiction many years ago when machines were not similar to buying a car (price). The overpricing for what one collector I talked to called "overpriced toys", is really killing the introduction to many new collectors and hobbyists and younger generations and overall I feel is hurting the greater mainstream reintroduction of this hobby to the masses. They are simply out of reach for many.
That being said, I would like to add that I have discovered a wide variety of great people that share a similar passion and hope to continue building on this.
Special thanks to Drano for making my first connection here a most pleasant experience and look forward to the insight of others.

Glad to see another join the insanity! If you're not too far away from Sydney I'll touch base next time I'm out to visit my Dad.

Your Father is in Cape Breton, about a 4-5 hour drive I would guess. I live in the Chester area. Has your Father ever mention Frankie MacDonald? Be Prepared!

I lost the Simpsons Pinball Party, was not fast enough. I am seriously looking at another major purchase soon. Just the problem of what to buy. Thinking NIB might be the best way to go just have to pick carefully and do my homework. An old good/ excellent condition pin seems to be as much or more than new strangely enough. Seriously considering GhostBusters, but .... what to buy. What do you have that might have to go to make room for more? You are looking a little crowded in your game room HEHE.

PS, I absolutely love SS. It is truly awesome.
